Altnagelvin Hospital (South Blocks 3.2 A&B)

Following the successful delivery of the Laboratory & Pharmacy Building at Altnagelvin Hospital, R&F Mechanical Services Ltd were awarded the Mechanical contracts for the new Blocks 3.2 A&B under a Performance Related Partnering (PRP) Framework.

The Developments encompassed two new hospital facilities each over 3 floors and totalling 21,000m² which included Specialist Clean Rooms, a Neo-Natal ward, Acute Adult Services, Cancer Services, Stroke Services, Adult Medical Unit for inpatient accommodation, a Coronary Care Unit, Cardiac Accommodation and a non-invasive Cardiac Investigation Unit. These facilities required a high level of complex mechanical services and incorporated a host of specialist hospital equipment. R&F delivered both blocks to budget and schedule, successfully integrating the various services ensuring a successful handover.

This multi-award winning project received many accolades including the Best Healthcare Project Under 40,000m² at the World Design & Health Awards.
